Hyderabad: AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan has told Congress leaders to stop internal group politics and instead focus on strengthening the party before the upcoming local body elections.

During her first orientation meeting with the newly appointed PCC observers, she asked them to work closely with District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents. Their job will be to identify problems in the party and find ways to make the organisation stronger from the ground up.

Meenakshi said the party must spread its ideology starting from the village level. She stressed that party leaders should work sincerely and seriously. She also said that the Congress party would follow the Gujarat model to build its organisation. She urged everyone to be ready for an ideological battle and to spread Congress values widely among the public.

The meeting was attended by PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud and Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy. Several political strategies were discussed, including recognising loyal party workers. These workers will help with planning, meetings, and building leadership at the constituency level. The PCC will be completely reorganised from village to district levels. The Congress party plans to reward committed grassroots workers. They may be appointed as chairpersons of corporations, members of market committees, temple trust boards, and advisory panels. The party said it will also nominate loyal senior workers, not celebrities, for MLC seats under both the Governor’s and MLA quotas.

The PCC has named two observers for each district on average. The PCC president directed these observers to work with local leaders such as current and former Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior party members. They have been asked to visit their assigned districts and carry out their tasks with full dedication and sincerity.
