Gaadwal: Efforts to make the police department more accessible continue in Jogulamba Gadwal District. Superintendent of Police, Mr. T. Srinivasa Rao, IPS, personally listened to 18 complaints from local residents during the weekly Prajavani grievance session held on Monday.

SP Srinivasa Rao encouraged people to approach the police without fear or using middlemen. He assured that the police are dedicated to handling complaints fairly and transparently.

During the Prajavani program, residents from Gadwal, Alampur, and Shanthi Nagar shared their issues with the SP. Complaints were accepted in front of the local Circle Inspectors (CIs).

The SP asked the CIs for updates on earlier complaints and gave instructions. He called Sub-Inspectors (SIs) directly, urging them to speed up investigations according to the law.

SP Srinivasa Rao highlighted the police department’s commitment to making citizens feel secure and confident in seeking justice. He emphasized 24/7 availability, maintaining law and order, and community engagement.

The Prajavani program occurs every Monday, allowing people to directly submit complaints to district police leaders for quick action.

Complaints Breakdown:

  • Land disputes: 14
  • Harassment cases: 2
  • Other issues: 2

However, some complainants expressed concerns about lower-level police staff. They mentioned delays and negligence in handling cases, especially with the involvement of middlemen.

Many victims reported slow acknowledgment of their complaints. Police often cite reasons like needing approval, stating the complaint is in court, or asking complainants to return later, causing frustration.

Some officers reportedly act discouragingly, making people reluctant to visit police stations. Such behavior undermines justice and public trust.

Complainants called for immediate reforms, demanding prompt and transparent responses from lower-level officers and no influence from middlemen. They hope for timely and fair justice.

This report showcases the district police’s efforts to create a citizen-focused policing model, while also highlighting the need for accountability within law enforcement.
