The Telangana Government has initiated a major reshuffle of land allocations in connection with the Musi Riverfront Development Project (Phase 1). Around 734 acres of institutional land located near Himayatsagar, Kismathpur, Premavathipet, Budvel, and Kothwalguda in Rangareddy district have been resumed and transferred to the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) to speed up project implementation.

According to the latest government directive, institutions currently located within the earmarked zone will be relocated to new sites, making way for the Musi rejuvenation and beautification works.

Land Details

A total of 734.07 acres have been resumed, including:

  • 128.39 acres from WALAMTARI,
  • 41.27 acres from IIPH,

  • 99 acres from Forest Department (Budvel),

Officials confirmed that the land reallocation is aimed at creating uninterrupted development corridors along the Musi River. This includes road widening, eco-tourism, flood control, and urban renewal infrastructure.

The Musi Riverfront Development Project, which spans across multiple phases, aims to transform the riverbanks into Hyderabad’s next major green corridor with parks, walkways, and cultural hubs. Phase 1 focuses on the Rangareddy stretch, including Rajendranagar, Himayatsagar, and Budvel regions.

Government sources stated that all necessary administrative sanctions are in place, and demolition and clearance works will begin soon on the resumed lands to pave the way for construction.
