Hyderabad: On Sunday, KT Rama Rao (KTR), the Bharat Rastra Samithi (BRS) working president, vowed to support those affected by the HYDRAA demolitions.
During a press briefing at Telangana Bhavan, KTR criticized the Congress government for allegedly misusing HYDRAA. He accused them of implementing “bulldozer justice” under the guise of protecting Hyderabad’s water resources.
KTR shared that families were displaced, pregnant women suffered, and schools were demolished without warning. Yet, the government conducted luxurious meetings in the name of justice, he claimed.
KTR assured that the BRS would take action through courts and protests. He promised that if no solution emerges, the KCR government would return to ensure justice for all HYDRAA victims. “I take personal responsibility. We have not wronged anyone in ten years. Wait for 500 days,” he stated.
Under the BRS’s decade-long rule, Telangana saw major developments like the State Secretariat, T-Hub, WE-Hub, and 42 flyovers. But, KTR pointed out that in just two years of Congress rule, selective demolitions targeted the poor.
KTR accused IT minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and CM Revanth Reddy’s brother, Tirupati Reddy, of violating HYDRAA rules without facing consequences. “Why hasn’t HYDRAA acted against the encroachments by the minister and the CM’s brother near Durgam Cherruvu? Are there different rules for the rich and poor?” he asked.
He highlighted that HYDRAA has not dared to challenge these powerful figures. “Bulldozers halt where power begins,” KTR remarked.
KTR criticized CM Revanth for his “hypocrisy.” He noted that when Revanth was the Leader of Opposition, he condemned demolitions as inhuman. “Now, he is doing worse,” KTR concluded.
