A cybercriminal has allegedly leaked 375,000 CSV records and 2,722 PDF documents linked to the State Bank of India (SBI). This claim was made on October 16 by a cybersecurity account named CyberPulse56 on X.
The hacker, known as Siriusim, claims the leaked data includes customer information, loan applications, account forms, addresses, and other bank-related details. This is reportedly the first release of the dataset.
The leaked data might contain personal details used for loans and bank accounts. It is unclear how the hacker accessed this information or if more data will follow.
If this information is indeed from SBI, it could lead to identity theft, financial fraud, or phishing. Personal data from the leaked documents could be used to impersonate customers or submit fake applications.
The claim has not been confirmed independently. SBI has yet to respond to these allegations.
Advice for customers: Be wary of calls, emails, or messages pretending to be from the bank asking for account details, passwords, PINs, or one-time passwords (OTPs). Always verify such requests through official bank channels. Report any suspected misuse of your information to SBI and relevant authorities.
