T Prakash Goud, a four-time MLA from BRS, has officially joined the Congress party. There were rumors about him and another BRS MLA, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, defecting to Congress for a few weeks. While Sabitha Indra Reddy denied the rumors, Prakash Goud decided to leave BRS.
Prakash Goud started his political career with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and later became a BRS candidate. He faced some challenges in his Rajendranagar constituency, especially after losing in the GHMC elections. Despite this setback, he managed to win in the Assembly elections.
In the recent Assembly elections, Prakash Goud defeated the BJP candidate by a significant margin. He is known for his strategic planning in attracting voters from key areas in his constituency.
Sources say that Prakash Goud had been in talks with the Congress leadership since the December 2023 Assembly elections, which marked the decline of the BRS party’s influence.
