An accountant at the District Medical and Health Office in Mancherial was caught accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 by Anti Corruption Bureau officials. The accountant, Puli Raja Narsaiah, had demanded the money from a CCTV contractor named Damula Ramasagar to process his bills.
Narsaiah was acting on the instructions of district accounts officer Sirikonda Deepika and former senior assistant Mohd Shafiuddin, who had asked him to collect the bribe on Shafiuddin’s behalf after he was transferred to Ramagundam.
Narsaiah tested positive in a chemical test and was arrested. He was produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Karimnagar.
