In Gadwal, a significant event took place at the Sri Jogulamba Bala Brahmeshwara Swamy Temple in Alampur. The occasion was Amavasya, a day marked by special spiritual activities. A Chandi Homam, a sacred ritual, was conducted with the participation of 220 devotees.
Key figures from the Indian National Congress (INC) attended the ceremony. Mr. Viswanath, AICC Secretary and Telangana In-charge, visited the temple along with Dr. SA Sampath Kumar, a former Alampur MLA. They were accompanied by Mr. Deepak John, Chairman of the Telangana Finance Corporation, and Mr. Venkatesh, District Observer. Together, they offered prayers to the deities.
The Chandi Homam is a powerful Vedic ritual dedicated to Goddess Durga (Chandi). It is performed to seek divine blessings, protection from negative forces, and to ensure prosperity and peace. Held on the auspicious new moon day, the ritual saw enthusiastic participation from devotees, priests, and spiritual seekers.
The leaders interacted with devotees and temple authorities, stressing the importance of preserving Telangana’s spiritual heritage and supporting temple development. Dr. Sampath Kumar highlighted the temple’s historical and spiritual value, promising to support its growth and preservation.
The event, attended by key political figures, combined devotion with public interaction, emphasizing the cultural significance of the Sri Jogulamba temple, one of the Astha Dasha Shakti Peethas of Goddess Shakti.
