Hyderabad – Senior political leader and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) General Secretary Syed Ahmed Pasha Qadri passed away on Tuesday evening at the age of 71 years. The veteran politician succumbed to a prolonged illness, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated public service spanning nearly four decades in Hyderabad’s political landscape.

Qadri began his political career as a Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) corporator, serving from 1986 to 1991. His grassroots work during this period established him as a prominent voice for the Old City constituencies, earning him respect among the local community and within the party ranks.

The senior leader’s legislative career included two significant tenures as a Member of Legislative Assembly. He first represented the Charminar constituency from 2004 to 2014, a period during which he worked extensively on civic issues and community welfare. Later, he served as MLA from the Yakutpura constituency between 2018 and 2023, continuing his commitment to public service in the Old City area.

As General Secretary of AIMIM, Qadri played a crucial role in the party’s organizational structure and strategic decision-making. His political acumen and administrative experience made him an invaluable asset to the party leadership.
