Hyderabad: On January 14, Kamatipura police registered two cases after a temple in Puranapul was vandalized. This incident led to violence causing injuries to five people, and damage to a religious flag, a shrine, and several vehicles.

Police presence remains strong in and around Puranapul to maintain order.

The first case involves the temple vandalism by an unknown individual, which escalated tensions.

The second case targets a group that damaged vehicles, attacked police with stones, destroyed a religious flag, damaged graves at Puranapul Darwaza, and assaulted members of a particular community.

The trouble began when unidentified people allegedly damaged a temple at Puranapul Darwaza.

Local residents discovered the vandalism and alerted others, leading to a gathering of protesters. Police quickly arrived to prevent further violence. Senior officials engaged with locals, and the damaged idol was partially restored.
