Global events have been affecting gold and silver prices. On Thursday, during the Sankranti festival, gold prices fell in India while silver prices rose. The price of 24-carat gold for 10 grams decreased by ₹820, settling at ₹1,43,180. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold for 10 grams dropped by ₹750, reaching ₹1,31,250. Notably, the price of a gram of 24-carat gold has increased by ₹14,071 over the past ten days.
Silver Prices Hit ₹3.10 Lakhs
On the same day, silver prices continued to rise, increasing by ₹3,000 per kilogram, reaching ₹3,10,000. Since January 1, silver prices have gone up by ₹54,000. Factors such as decisions by U.S. President Trump, tensions in Iran, developments in Venezuela, industrial demand, inflation, and interest rates are driving the increase in silver prices.
