Allocation of Portfolios to New Ministers in Telangana

The portfolios of the ministers in the new Congress government in Telangana were announced on Saturday. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will handle Municipal Administration, General Administration, Law and Order, and other unallocated portfolios.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has been given the Finance and Energy portfolio. N Uttam Kumar Reddy will handle Irrigation and Civil Supplies. D Sridhar Babu will be in charge of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Industries and Commerce, and legislative affairs.

Damodar Rajanarasimha will handle Health, Medical & Family Welfare. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy will be the Minister for Roads and Buildings, Cinematography. Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy will handle Revenue and Housing, as well as Information and Public Relations. Ponnam Prabhakar will be responsible for Transport and BC Welfare.

Konda Surekha has been given the Environment and Forests, as well as Endowment portfolio. D Anasuya (Seethakka) will be in charge of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare. Tummala Nageswara Rao will handle Agriculture, Marketing, Co-operation, Handlooms, and Textiles. Jupally Krishna Rao will be responsible for Prohibition & Excise, Tourism, Culture, and Archaeology.

It is expected that six more ministers will be appointed to the cabinet after the election of Assembly Speaker. G Prasad Kumar, a Dalit leader elected from Vikarabad, has filed his nomination for the Speaker’s post.
