Karimnagar: The Telangana government, led by SC, ST and Minority Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, is focusing on improving education quality in social and welfare Gurukul schools. A new initiative to use steel utensils for cooking started at the Social Welfare Girls’ Gurukul School in Alugunur, Karimnagar district on Monday.
The school received the necessary steel utensils for this purpose. Minister Kumar inspected the dining facilities, kitchens, and breakfast quality, expressing his satisfaction. He joined the students for breakfast and attended the morning assembly.
Minister Kumar highlighted that cooking in aluminum utensils can pose health risks. Therefore, they plan to switch to steel utensils in approximately 700 Gurukul schools across the State. The initiative began at the Social Welfare Girls’ Gurukul School in Alugunur.
Funds will be allocated to each school for purchasing steel utensils. The minister instructed Alugu Varshini, Secretary of the Social Welfare Gurukuls Organization, and District Collector Pamela Satpathy to fill vacant teaching positions at the Alugunur school promptly.
Alugu Varshini announced that the steel cooking method is now active in Karimnagar and will be implemented statewide within three months. She encouraged students to use the Phone Mitra service for any issues, allowing them to report problems to higher authorities.
District Collector Pamela Satpathy praised the Alugunur Social Welfare Gurukul School students for their achievements in various fields. She encouraged them to maintain their dedication and to use the Vidya Vahini YouTube channel for further learning. Tahsildar Srinivas Reddy, Gurukul School Principal Srinivas Reddy, and other officials attended the event.
