The TBJP is excited for the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. They hope his visit will motivate the party after their loss in the Karnataka Assembly elections. Shah will speak at a public meeting in Khammam and the TBJP plans to have at least 100,000 people attend. The party hopes this meeting will boost morale and prepare them for the Telangana Assembly polls in November-December.

Shah’s visit also coincides with internal conflicts within the BJP. Some leaders are calling for a change in state leadership and the party has struggled to attract former MP Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and former minister Jupally Krishna Rao to their party. Both of these leaders were recently suspended by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for anti-party activities. Srinivasa Reddy is reportedly considering joining the Congress.
