In Mummaipalli village of Bijinapalli mandal in Nagarkurnool district, a tragic incident occurred. Nakka Nagayya (48) and his wife Lakshmi, who have been married for 30 years, are both known to have drinking problems. On Monday, Nagayya got into a drunken fight which led to a violent altercation.
During the argument, Lakshmi became enraged and grabbed an axe, attacking Nagayya. The villagers quickly intervened and rushed Nagayya to the district hospital with the help of emergency services. Lakshmi was taken into custody by the Bijinapally police. Unfortunately, Nagayya’s injuries were severe and he passed away on the way to Gandhi Hospital.
The incident has left the village in mourning, as a case has been filed and the police are currently investigating the matter.
