    Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Announces Mega DSC to be Held by December 10, 7 White Papers Released, Pension Increase, Repeal of Land Titling Act, and Formation of Sub-Committee on Cannabis Issue

    The Andhra Pradesh cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu discussed key issues and concluded at the Secretariat on Monday. The meeting lasted for about three-and-a-half hours. The cabinet approved the five signatures made by the CM as per the election promises. It has been decided to restore the name of NTR Medical Health University.

    Some of the major decisions taken during the meeting included the approval of a Mega DSC to fill 16,347 posts, abolition of the Land Titling Act, pension increase to Rs. 4,000, renovation of food canteens, and skill enumeration. The Cabinet also approved the recruitment of 16,347 teacher posts to be filled through Mega DSC 2024.

    The Andhra Pradesh Land Titling Act, 2022 was repealed by the Cabinet as it was deemed to create confusion and disrupt various systems. The NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme saw an increase in pension amounts for various categories of beneficiaries. The Cabinet also approved the conduct of the Andhra Pradesh Skill Census-2024 to assess the skill gap among youth in the state.

    The Cabinet also decided to reopen Anna Canteens to provide quality food at subsidised rates to the poor. Furthermore, the renaming of NTR University as NTR University of Health Sciences was approved. A sub-committee was formed under the Home Minister to prevent ganja, and white papers on seven departments will be released to inform the public about policies adopted by the previous government.

    In addition to these decisions, the Cabinet approved the appointment of a new Advocate General for Andhra Pradesh, accepted resignations of former officials, and instructed immediate sanitation and drainage works in Panchayats and Municipalities. Measures were also discussed to prepare for seasonal diseases and repair dilapidated roads and highways.
