The State government has cancelled the allotment of 15 acres of land to a charitable organisation co-founded by Dr B Pardhasaradhi Reddy, chairman of Hetero Pharma Group and Rajya Sabha MP. The previous government had approved the allotment of government land to the pharmaceutical company at a very low price. However, the High Court found fault with this decision, stating that it went against the government’s own policy. The court ordered the government to reconsider the allotment.

In response to the court’s judgment, the government has cancelled the land allotment to the company. The officials stated that the land’s market value is around Rs 100 crore, but it was allotted without considering its true worth. Many social organisations have objected to the allotment of such valuable land to a multi-crore pharma company.
