Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao strongly criticized Revanth Reddy’s government on Tuesday, accusing them of harming the lives of the poor through the HYDRA initiative. He also questioned the apparent double standards in dealing with his brother’s properties.
At a meeting held at Telangana Bhavan with party leaders from Serilingampally, KT Rama Rao gave a passionate speech. He accused the government of demolishing the homes of the underprivileged under the pretense of the HYDRA program. “They are mercilessly destroying the homes of the poor, leaving them on the streets,” said Rao. He raised concerns about unequal treatment, asking whether there was one law for the poor and another for the Chief Minister’s brother, Anumula Thirupathi Reddy.
Rama Rao also challenged the government to take action against those who had authorized illegal constructions. He accused the Congress party of issuing these approvals during their previous time in power. He promised that the BRS would support the poor and fight against any attempts to demolish their homes.
KTR further criticized Revanth Reddy’s family, accusing them of corruption and dividing the state. He highlighted the difference between the two governments, pointing out that the BRS had built double-bedroom houses, flyovers, and sewage treatment plants (STPs), while the current government, in just nine months, had focused only on “intimidation, demolition, and blackmail.”
KTR dared the Chief Minister to begin the demolition drive with the properties of Patnam Mahender Reddy and Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. He also predicted that the BRS would win the upcoming Serilingampally bye-election, claiming that the people of Telangana were already regretting their decision to vote for Congress.
He concluded by expressing confidence in KCR’s return to power. “Only BRS can ensure Telangana’s development,” he said, referring to Revanth Reddy as “Chitti Naidu” and assuring party workers that KCR’s victory was certain.
