The piers of block No 7 on the left bank of Medigadda barrage have sunk, and people are wondering why. Some believe it was due to poor quality of work or sabotage. In response, the National Dam Safety Authority has formed a committee to investigate the cause. A complaint has been filed by an official who heard a loud sound on the barrage and found damage to the piers. An FIR has been registered against unknown persons, with suspicions of extremist involvement. The TBJP president demands a thorough investigation into possible design faults. The Irrigation department suspects shifting sand as a cause. Congress leader T Jeevan Reddy warns that unless the damage is addressed, the barrage may become unusable.
