Jagan Condemns Chandrababu Naidu’s Leadership, Urges Public Vigilance

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urges Andhra Pradesh citizens to evaluate the state's direction under Chandrababu Naidu's leadership.

AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has not yet revealed the list of candidates for the upcoming State Assembly elections. This has left the current MLAs uncertain about their future. Owaisi has hinted at potential changes and new faces in the party, causing speculation among other leaders from different parties who have been visiting AIMIM’s headquarters, Darussalam.

In the previous Assembly polls, the AIMIM won seven out of eight seats, maintaining its stronghold in the Old City area. However, despite contesting in various seats across Maharashtra, Bihar, and Telangana, the party’s tally remained at seven. The party’s strongholds include Charminar, Yakutpura, Chandrayangutta, Nampally, Bahadurpura, Malakpet, and Karwan.

Owaisi has mentioned that his party’s seven MLAs are equivalent to 70,000 members, emphasizing their strength. He has also hinted at major party changes and the possibility of fielding new faces in the elections. This has created uncertainty among the sitting MLAs who are eagerly waiting for the decision on their ticket allocation.

In 2018, the AIMIM swapped the constituencies of two MLAs, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan and Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri. It was also reported that Khan may not contest in the upcoming elections and instead pass on his legacy to one of his sons as the party’s candidate. Many other leaders, including former Mayor Mohd Majid Hussain and senior leader Yaser Arafath, are also aspiring for party tickets.

Overall, there is suspense surrounding the party’s candidate selection, with speculations of new faces being fielded and some current MLAs being dropped. The presence of leaders from other parties visiting Darussalam indicates their interest in joining AIMIM or seeking party tickets to contest against vocal critic MLA Raja Singh of the BJP.
