Hyderabad: Sandeep Shandilya, the director of the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGNAB), encouraged students to find joy in simple, natural activities and achievements instead of turning to drugs.
He spoke at a three-day orientation program held at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Hyderabad from July 31 to August 2. During his talk on “Substance Abuse” on Friday, he addressed more than 250 students and staff members.
Shandilya explained that the happiness gained from natural rewards is far more fulfilling than the artificial joy derived from substances. He advised all students to avoid drugs, stay vigilant, and report any drug-related incidents to the authorities.
He also reminded the students about their responsibility to fulfill both their own dreams and those of their parents. At the end of his talk, he led everyone in taking a pledge to stay away from drugs for a better society.
The event was also attended by the campus director, Prof. Dr. Malini Divakala, joint director Prof. Avinash Raipally, and CAC Prof. Dr. Annaji Sharma.
