Traveling to Hitec City is about to become easier. Starting March 17, 2025, Uber is offering free rides on its Uber Shuttle service for three weeks. This initiative aims to provide Hyderabad commuters with a more comfortable and hassle-free travel experience.
Uber Shuttle is a shared bus service designed for daily commuters. It is currently being tested in Hyderabad to help reduce traffic congestion and encourage shared transportation. The service connects residential areas with major business hubs through fixed routes. Uber Shuttle has already been successful in cities like Delhi and Kolkata, where many people use it for their daily travel.
During the free ride period, commuters can travel at no cost on routes from Alwal, Ameenpur, Bachupally, Nampally, Uppal, and Vanasthalipuram to and from Hitec City. This initiative is expected to encourage more people to try shared transportation options.
Amit Deshpande, Head of Uber Shuttle India, said that Hyderabad’s rapid growth has led to traffic problems, and shared transport can help solve this issue. “By offering free Uber Shuttle rides for three weeks, we want commuters to experience the convenience of Uber Shuttle firsthand,” he said.
Passengers can book their seats in advance using the Uber app. They can also track their shuttle’s location and check the estimated time of arrival (ETA). Uber Shuttle ensures a safe and comfortable ride by not allowing standing passengers.
How to Book a Free Uber Shuttle Ride
1. Open the Uber app.
2. Enter your destination (to or from Hitec City) and select ‘Shuttle’.
3. Check your fare—it will be ₹0 during the free ride period.
4. Choose your preferred route and pickup time, then tap ‘Request’.
5. 25 minutes before departure, you’ll receive driver and bus details.
6. Track your shuttle in the app.
7. Go to the assigned pickup spot and enjoy your ride.
