    Nirmal district is making strong progress with the Balashakti programme, a major effort to support and empower young girls. District Collector Abhilash Abhinav confirmed its successful rollout in the region.

    A special three-day training session is currently underway at the MCR HRD Institute in Hyderabad. This event brings together Education Department officials and regional directors from all 33 districts of Telangana.

    During the training, Collector Abhinav shared a detailed presentation about how the Balashakti programme is being implemented across 57 residential schools in Nirmal. She was invited to speak by Yogita Rana, the State Secretary of School Education.

    The Collector highlighted the programme’s four main goals: health and wellness, financial literacy, skill development, and exposure visits.

    She explained that the initiative aims to improve girls’ overall well-being. It helps them understand money matters, build useful skills, and explore the world beyond school.

    Special focus is placed on the health of girls in residential schools. They are provided with nutritious food, eye checkups, and medical care to ensure they stay healthy and active.

    The training session also saw the participation of MCR HRD Director Ramesh, Joint Director Lakshmi Narasamma, and several education officials from across the state.
