Hanamkonda: Officials in Warangal are preparing for a special visit on May 14, when international contestants of the Miss World pageant will tour the area. These beauty queens, coming from various countries, are currently participating in the event hosted in Hyderabad.
To ensure everything runs smoothly, District Collectors P. Praveenya and Dr. Satya Sharada led a coordination meeting on Friday at the Hanamkonda Collectorate. They brought together key officials from the police, tourism, and other departments to discuss arrangements.
Warangal Police Commissioner Sunpreet Singh joined the meeting, along with event planners from Shoboth, the agency managing the tour. The organizers presented the planned itinerary through a detailed slideshow.
The visitors will arrive at the Haritha Kakatiya Hotel in Hanamkonda, where they’ll be welcomed with a traditional Bathukamma cultural performance. From there, they’ll head to the historic Thousand Pillar Temple.
To prepare for their temple visit, officials have been asked to install barricades, assign a guide to explain the temple’s history, and set up areas for photos, parking, and clean sanitation.
After the temple, the group will tour the ancient Warangal Fort, another major local attraction. The day will end back at Haritha Kakatiya with a dinner, after which the beauty queens will return to Hyderabad.
Other officials present at the meeting included Additional Collector Sandhya Rani, East Zone DCP Ankit Kumar, ASP Manan Bhatt, and District Treasury Officer Srinivas Kumar. Together, they aim to make sure Warangal leaves a lasting impression on the international guests.
