Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, urged Nitin Gadkari, the Union Road and Transport Minister, to begin the delayed expansion of the Karimnagar-Jagtial road. This meeting took place in New Delhi on Monday.
Bandi Sanjay discussed the road expansion and issues related to the Central Road Infrastructure Funds (CRIF) with Gadkari. He mentioned that before the last elections, the government had allocated Rs 2151 crore for expanding the Karimnagar to Jagtial road into four lanes.
He pointed out that the tender process for this project has not started yet. Gadkari explained that the expansion was delayed due to public objections and legal issues, but these have now been resolved. The project report has been sent to the committee, and the work will commence soon.
Bandi Sanjay also requested the release of CRIF for various road projects in Telangana. He presented pending road proposals from his constituency, totaling Rs 113 crore, to the Union Minister.
These proposals include building a high-level bridge over the Manair river on the Bavupeta-Khazipur road in Kothapalli mandal and expanding the Gundlapalli-Pothur road in Ganneruvaram mandal. There is also a plan to construct bridges from Chandurthi to Motkuraopet.
