Telangana BJP president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticized the State government and police for their failure to enforce laws against cow slaughter. He specifically mentioned a local corporator who killed a cow in front of the public during the Bakrid festival, which is a violation of the existing laws. Despite complaints from some individuals, the police did not take action. On the other hand, when people protested and demanded the implementation of these laws in Dharmapuri, they were arrested and cases were filed against them. Sanjay Kumar called this situation a gross injustice.

In response to the corporator’s illegal act, the people of Dharmapuri voluntarily observed a bandh (shutdown) to protest. However, instead of addressing their concerns, the police instilled fear among the protestors and made arrests. Sanjay Kumar condemned this act by the police, who not only failed to enforce the law but also targeted those advocating for its implementation.

Sanjay Kumar criticized Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao’s government for its inefficiency in implementing the laws against cow slaughter. He also questioned CM KCR’s silence on the incident, despite his claims of being a devout Hindu.

Sanjay Kumar demanded the immediate withdrawal of non-bailable cases against innocent people and those arrested for demanding the enforcement of the existing laws. He called for the unconditional release of those who were arrested.
