In an IPL 2023 match, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs. LSG restricted RCB to 126 for 9. The hosts struggled in their reply, falling to 27 for 4 and then 65 for 6 in the 11th over. Eventually, LSG were all out for 108 in 19.5 overs. Skipper Faf du Plessis scored 44 off 40 balls after RCB won the toss and opted to bat first, while Virat Kohli made 31 off 30 deliveries. Naveen-ul-Haq took three wickets for LSG, while leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi finished with figures of 2/21 in his full quota of four overs.

The most concerning moment for LSG came when KL Rahul suffered an injury and looked doubtful for the next match. He was unable to run, and this could be a major problem ahead of the WTC final. Amit Mishra also picked up two wickets for LSG, while Krunal Pandya bowled economically to end with figures of 0/21 in four overs.
