Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao recently held a meeting in Hanumakonda to discuss crop loss due to recent rains and hailstorms. He called for district Collectors to conduct a field survey to prepare a comprehensive report on the issue. The Minister directed the Collectors of Warangal and Hanumakonda to prepare a crop loss report as soon as possible, so that farmers would receive compensation early. He also asked officials to ensure relief to tenant farmers.

The Minister also talked about the need for paddy procurement centres to speed up purchases, and instructed officials to hold meetings with rice millers to avoid short measurement. He also told officials to arrange transport facilities to shift the purchased paddy. The government will also purchase maize, he said, instructing officials to set up purchase centres.
