The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has warned all IPL teams, players, and staff about a possible match-fixing threat involving a businessman from Hyderabad.
According to the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACSU), the businessman has a past record of being involved in betting and fixing activities. Reports say he has been trying to contact players, franchise owners, commentators, and support staff during the ongoing IPL 2025 season.
The BCCI is concerned that he may try to influence matches by building relationships with people involved in the IPL. It is also believed that he might be offering expensive gifts or favors to gain their trust.
The ACSU has asked everyone linked with the IPL to stay alert and report any suspicious messages, calls, or offers. The warning comes at a time when BCCI officials are already doing random checks on players’ equipment to make sure there is no cheating or wrongdoing.
With this move, the BCCI has made it clear that it will not tolerate any attempts to harm the fairness and integrity of the game. All teams and players are urged to be careful and report any shady activity immediately.
