Hyderabad: Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri captured the spotlight at the 72nd Miss World contest on Saturday by winning the crown. This victory marks her as Thailand’s first-ever Miss World.
Opal believes in inspiring others, regardless of age or status. She says that everyone, from children to adults, including one’s own parents, can look up to someone. Leading by example through graceful actions is essential for positively influencing those around us.
During the event, judge Sonu Sood asked Opal about what her Miss World journey taught her regarding truth and personal responsibility. Opal, crowned Miss World Thailand 2025 on April 22, left for Hyderabad shortly after. Previously, she also competed in Miss Universe 2024, securing the third runner-up position.
The first runner-up title went to Hasset Dereje from Ethiopia, making her the first from her country to achieve such a placement in Miss World history. Ethiopia began participating in Miss World in 2003. When Rana Daggubati, another jury member, inquired about her feelings on being a beauty queen, Dereje expressed immense pride in representing her country at this level.
