Hyderabad: The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has asked the Telangana Government to celebrate World Environment Day on June 5 with a focus on energy-saving practices. They want to highlight energy efficiency and the goals of Mission LiFE.
BEE Secretary Milind Deore wrote to the state suggesting the Energy Department take steps to promote energy efficiency. They recommend using 5-Star Rated Energy-Efficient Appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, and ceiling fans. These can help cut down electricity use and costs.
The BEE also advises setting air conditioners to 24°C or higher. They encourage habits like turning off unused lights and appliances, using natural light and air, and switching to LED lighting. Public awareness efforts should inform people about choosing energy-efficient products, certified by the BEE’s Star Labelling Programme.
