Rajanna Sircilla: The BJP has raised concerns over the plan to close the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada. This temple, often called Dakshina Kashi, faces closure due to proposed development and expansion efforts. On Saturday, Reddiboyina Gopi, the BJP district president for Rajanna-Sircilla, criticized this decision at a press conference in Vemulawada. He called it a “serious conspiracy to hurt Hindu sentiments.”
The BJP clarified they support temple development. However, stopping devotees from having darshan for expansion purposes is not acceptable. Gopi pointed out that even during major renovations at temples like Kashi and Ujjain Mahankali, darshan continued. He questioned why this situation is different.
Gopi claimed that the decision aims to undermine Hindu faith, not just develop the site. He urged the government to relocate the dargah situated within the temple grounds. “There are no Hindu samadhis inside mosques, so why allow a dargah inside Rajanna temple?” he asked, urging authorities to handle the matter sensitively.
The BJP leader warned of large protests if the closure proceeds. “We will not stay silent if the government moves forward with this plan. Thousands of Hindu devotees will join us in massive agitations soon,” he stated.
