Hyderabad: The BJP is ramping up efforts for the local body elections in Telangana, focusing on winning many seats in Karimnagar and Sircilla. BJP State President N. Ramachandra Rao arrived in Karimnagar on Wednesday, marking a significant moment in the party’s campaign. Leaders and supporters rallied under the slogan, “Give power to everyone… Give opportunity to the BJP.”

This was Ramachandra Rao’s first visit to Karimnagar since becoming state leader. Local BJP members prepared a grand welcome. He left Hyderabad at 8 a.m. and was greeted at the Gundlapalli toll gate by Union Minister and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with many activists and leaders. The convoy moved towards Karimnagar, receiving warm welcomes at spots like the Alugunur intersection.

At noon, a key strategy meeting took place at Konda Satya Lakshmi Garden. Ramachandra Rao and Bandi Sanjay spoke to polling booth presidents, secretaries, and senior leaders from the Karimnagar Parliament constituency. They focused on planning for election success, highlighting the central government’s development projects and welfare programs.

Bandi Sanjay has been preparing for the campaign by meeting with mandal presidents and district executives. He urged party members to showcase the impact of central funds on village development, contrasting it with what he calls neglect by past BRS and Congress governments. Sanjay claimed no funds were given to gram panchayats during the 20-month Congress rule and accused state governments of misusing central funds for administrative costs.

The BJP sees a favorable political environment in Karimnagar, noting the decline of BRS and weak Congress leadership. A survey identified strong candidates, with more evaluations planned after local body reservations are announced.

The campaign will highlight major achievements under Bandi Sanjay’s leadership, including Rs 20,000 crore for constituency development, the free distribution of 20,000 bicycles to students, 12B status for Satavahana University, autonomous status for Essarar College, and infrastructure projects like the Sainik School in Rukmapur and several ROB constructions.

The BJP also plans to connect with caste associations, emphasizing funds for community development. Programs like MP LADS, NREGA, and CRIF provided Rs 10–50 lakh to gram panchayats for boreholes, roads, and cemetery walls. These details will be shared door-to-door to show the party’s dedication to local progress.

The BJP aims to lead the local body elections and secure key positions in Zilla Parishads. Ramachandra Rao’s visit is expected to energize the party and set the stage for a strong, development-focused campaign.
