Chinese President Xi Jinping recently visited Moscow and proposed a ceasefire in the ongoing war, which has been met with skepticism by the United States. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has publicly warned for weeks that China may be providing military aid to Russia to fight in Ukraine, but he stated on Wednesday that they have not crossed that line yet. Despite China’s increasing diplomatic support for Russia, Blinken believes that their material support goes against the US interest in bringing an end to the war. He also mentioned that the US would encourage other countries to extradite Russian President Vladimir Putin if he visits following an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court. However, Blinken does not expect Putin to travel to the United States.
