Hyderabad: Eight-year-old Yuvaan Hiremath, son of Dr. Sunil S Hiremath, who is the Director of Zoo Parks in Telangana, showed his love for wildlife by adopting eight animal species for a month at Nehru Zoological Park on his birthday.
Yuvaan celebrated his eighth birthday by visiting the zoo with his parents. He handed over the adoption voucher, representing the donation, to J Vasantha, the Curator of Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad. The animals Yuvaan adopted include a Hippopotamus, Jaguar, Bear, Capuchin Monkey, Pelican, Gharial, Otter, and an Owl. This is the second year in a row that Yuvaan has chosen to adopt animals for his birthday.
Curator Vasantha wished Yuvaan a happy birthday and thanked him for his kind support and love for wildlife.
Nehru Zoological Park has seen a positive response to its animal adoption program. Various individuals, companies, banks, and schools are participating by adopting animals or donating to their care.
The Curator encouraged everyone to join the initiative, offering options to adopt animals for periods from a day to a year.
