    BRS and BJP attempting to garner sympathy from farmers under the guise of drought

    Kisan Congress National Vice President Kodanda Reddy accused BJP and BRS parties of irresponsibly discussing the drought issue. He said they are trying to gain sympathy from farmers by blaming the Congress party for the current drought situation.

    Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, Kodanda Reddy criticized the BRS party for misleading people by falsely claiming that the Congress party caused the drought. He mentioned that many states are facing drought, but BRS leaders are blaming Congress to get votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

    Kodanda Reddy also criticized BJP Telangana State president Kishan Reddy and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay for spreading lies about the drought conditions in Telangana. He called on the Union government to support areas affected by drought through Disaster Management measures.

    The Congress leader highlighted that the Centre had supported Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat during previous drought situations. He mentioned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s efforts to monitor the drought situation and ensure an adequate supply of drinking water in Telangana.

    Kodanda Reddy criticized opposition parties for using drought for political gains in the Lok Sabha elections. He dismissed a death list of farmers sent by the BRS party to the Chief Secretary as false, noting that it included names of people who died in road accidents. He stated that only 63 people had died in Telangana since Congress came to power, with many of them being farmers who died by suicide.
