Hyderabad: A meeting regarding the BRS MLAs who switched to the Congress is set for Wednesday. BRS lawyers will question these MLAs in front of the Speaker.
On Tuesday, after a session at the Speaker’s office, BRS MLAs Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Kalvakuntla Sanjay, and Chinta Prabhakar submitted signed documents to the Speaker. The day before, lawyers representing the defected MLAs questioned the BRS MLAs. T Prakash Goud (Rajendranagar), Kale Yadaiah (Chevella), and Gudem Mahipal Reddy (Patancheru), along with Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy (Gadwal), attended the hearing. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy claimed that the lawyers for the defected MLAs posed irrelevant questions, but they responded calmly.
Now, it’s the turn of BRS lawyers to cross-examine the MLAs who changed sides. The MLAs insist they have not joined Congress, apart from Kadiyam Srihari and Danam Nagender. Other eight MLAs deny joining Congress. BRS leaders have provided proof and media clips against these MLAs to the Speaker.
Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar is conducting the hearing as instructed by the Supreme Court to decide on disqualification petitions by October 30. He plans to conclude the hearings in a few days before leaving for a foreign tour on October 6.
