Former minister and senior BRS leader Mallareddy, who is accused of land grabbing, has approached the Telangana High Court. He filed a petition arguing that the case registered against him by the Samirpet police of Medchal district is illegal and should be dismissed. The petition was heard by Justice Surender on Monday, but the judge ordered the registry to take it before the bench that handles cases involving political leaders and postponed the hearing.

In the meantime, Mallareddy has been accused of occupying lands in Kesavapuram village of Medchal mandal and Thiruchintapalli mandal. The police recently registered a case after receiving a complaint. However, Mallareddy claims that this case is illegal.
