The Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat is in high demand among BRS leaders. Many are lobbying for a ticket and openly requesting the party leadership to send them to the Lok Sabha.

The BRS party faced a setback in the Assembly elections, but found solace in the city where it retained a majority of seats. Party leaders believe that with their strength in the seven constituencies, they have a good chance of winning the seat. Therefore, they are trying to get noticed for a ticket.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the party gave a ticket to Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s son Sai Kiran Yadav, who lost to the BJP candidate G Kishan Reddy. Sources say that the former minister is trying to get a ticket for his son again. Srinivas Yadav has good connections with leaders in the constituencies under the Lok Sabha segment due to his involvement in the Bonalu festival where he distributed cheques to temples. Being close to the BRS chief is an advantage for him, according to party leaders.

Senior leader Bonthu Rammohan has also expressed his interest in the Secunderabad LS segment. He stated that he has conveyed his desire to contest from either Secunderabad or Malkajgiri LS constituencies to the party high command. Rammohan mentioned MLA Ch Malla Reddy and suggested that instead of giving tickets to one family, the party should consider Telangana protagonists who were part of the movement.

Another leader, Mothe Shobhan Reddy, is also vying for the ticket. He is the husband of Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Reddy. Party leaders say that Reddy met with party working president KT Rama Rao and requested a ticket.

Party Hyderabad district in-charge Dasoju Sravan is also said to be competing for the Secunderabad ticket. Party leaders state that Sravan, who narrowly missed a Council berth, wants to try his luck in the Lok Sabha segment. Senior leader from the Jubilee Hills constituency R Sridhar Reddy is also aiming for a ticket either from Secunderabad or Malkajgiri LS segment.

The Secunderabad Lok Sabha has seven segments: Secunderabad, Khairatabad, Jubilee Hills, Amberpet, Sanathnagar, Musheerabad, and Nampally. Except for Nampally, the BRS has won in all six segments. This has motivated the party leaders to contest the election.
