Hyderabad – The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) strongly criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday for his remarks targeting their party leader K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).

Senior BRS figure T Harish Rao accused Revanth Reddy of constantly attacking KCR and turning every event into a political weapon. According to Rao, the CM is using public platforms, including school functions and cultural celebrations, to launch personal attacks on the former Chief Minister.

Rao condemned Reddy’s speech during a government event celebrating Basaveswara Jayanti and the announcement of SSC exam results. He called the CM’s behavior inappropriate and unfit for a leader of his position.

He claimed the government purposely delayed the SSC results and changed the timing twice to give the CM a stage to speak politically. “Instead of focusing on students, he used their event to settle political scores,” Rao said.

Rao also questioned the government’s silence on key Congress promises, including:

    2.25 lakh job vacancies
    – A transparent job calendar
    ₹2,500 monthly support for women
    Gold for brides
    Scooters for girl students
    – The Rythu Bharosa scheme for farmers

He challenged the CM to a face-to-face debate on important issues like the Kaleshwaram irrigation project, loan waivers, Rythu Bandhu, and the caste census. Rao said he’s ready to meet Reddy anytime, anywhere for an open discussion.

The BRS leader reminded the public that the formation of Telangana was made possible by KCR’s dedication and leadership, not by any favor from the Congress party.

Rao accused Reddy of being unable to handle the success of the BRS’s recent Rajatotsavam Sabha (platinum jubilee meeting). “He’s lost sleep and focus. His speeches are now filled with bitterness,” Rao said during a press conference.

He also criticized the CM for using Basaveswara Jayanti, a day meant to celebrate equality and justice, as a political platform. “It’s shameful to twist such a sacred occasion for personal attacks,” Rao added.
