The Congress party in Warangal has finally settled on BRS Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari and his daughter Kavya as their candidates for the Warangal Lok Sabha seat. This decision came after a back and forth between Congress, BJP, and BRS parties who were all searching for candidates.
Initially, BRS was not keen on renominating their current MP Pasunuri Dayakar, leading him to join the Congress. Aroori Ramesh also left the party when he was not selected as a candidate, and is now running for election on a BJP ticket. Kadiyam Kavya was chosen by KCR to represent BRS, but she later left the party along with her father.
Now, BRS is looking for a strong candidate to field for the Lok Sabha seat. There are rumors that actor-turned-politician Babu Mohan, who currently leads KA Paul’s Praja Shanti Party Telangana wing, may be considered by BRS. Discussions are ongoing between Babu Mohan and BRS leadership.
There is also speculation that former deputy chairman Thatikonda Rajaiah may return to BRS, especially with his rival Kadiyam Srihari leaving the party. Despite being part of BRS together for many years, the two were never in agreement.
