Hyderabad: A house in Old Alwal was burglarized while the owner was away. The thieves reportedly stole Rs 1 lakh in cash and around 30 tolas of gold jewellery.
According to the information available, the house owner, Pavani, had locked her house and left on March 25 to visit her parents. She went there to take care of her ailing father. During her absence, burglars broke the main door lock and entered the house.
When Pavani and other family members returned, they found that the house had been robbed. They immediately informed the police.
The Alwal police registered a case and began investigating. A special crime team visited the house to collect evidence. CCTV footage from nearby cameras is being checked.
Police believe the burglary may have been carried out by an interstate gang.
