The AICC has cleared Kadiyam Kavya, the daughter of former Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari, to contest from Warangal Lok Sabha. The decision was made during a Central Election Commission meeting in Delhi attended by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. The meeting aimed to finalize candidates for Warangal, Khammam, Karimnagar, and Hyderabad. However, only Kavya’s name was released for Telangana, with other names expected to be announced later.

Kavya recently switched from BRS to the Congress party and joined formally in the presence of Revanth Reddy. She has been involved in public life through her charitable organization, the Kadiyam Foundation, for years. Her father has encouraged her to enter politics, despite the opposition from the Madiga community due to the lack of representation from their community in the party.

There is still suspense over the candidates for the remaining constituencies, with party members eagerly awaiting confirmation for their favorite leaders. Some speculate that the delay in finalizing candidates for Karimnagar, Khammam, and Hyderabad may be a strategy by the party high command to prevent dissent within the party.
