Central Institutions from Telangana Lead NIRF 2024 Rankings

Hyderabad: The National Institutional Rankings Framework (NIRF) results for 2024 were released by the Union Minister of Education, highlighting the performance of Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in Telangana.

In the overall national rankings out of 100, IIT Hyderabad secured the 12th position. The University of Hyderabad followed at the 25th position, and Osmania University was placed at the 70th position.

Focusing on University Rankings, the University of Hyderabad achieved the 17th rank. Osmania University was ranked 45th, and IIIT Hyderabad secured the 74th position. Notably, no college from Telangana made it to the national rankings.

In research, IIT Hyderabad was ranked 15th, while the University of Hyderabad was placed at 28th. Both institutions are central to Telangana.

In engineering, IIT Hyderabad stood at 8th place. The National Institute of Technology, Warangal secured the 21st rank. IIIT Hyderabad also ranked 21st, with the University of Hyderabad at 70th, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad at 88th, and SR University at 98th.

For management studies, ICFAI achieved the 39th rank. The National Institute of Agriculture Extension Management followed at 96th, and NIT Warangal at 100th.

In the Pharmacy stream, the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research achieved the 2nd rank nationally. Anurag University was ranked 71st, followed by Vishnu Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research at 87th, Kakatiya University, Warangal at 88th, and CMR College of Pharmacy at 95th.

Osmania Medical College was the only medical college from Telangana in the top 50, standing at 48th position.

In Dental Sciences, the Army College of Dental Sciences was ranked 40th among the top 50 dental colleges in the country.

NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad ranked 3rd among top law colleges nationally, with ICFAI securing the 36th position.

No college from Telangana made it to the top 40 in the Architecture and Planning category.

Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, previously ranked within the top five a couple of years ago, fell to the 37th position in the 2024 NIRF rankings.
