Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, has reaffirmed that the Central Government is committed to fulfilling all promises made to the people of India, including the citizens of Telangana, during the last parliamentary elections.

Speaking to the media in New Delhi on Tuesday, he emphasized that these promises would be implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He assured that the government would not make excuses or shift blame onto others to evade its responsibilities.

Kishan Reddy criticized the Congress party for failing to fulfill the six guarantees and 420 sub-guarantees they promised to the people of Telangana before the elections. He pointed out that after coming to power, the Congress-led state government requested Rs 1.5 lakh crore from the Centre, which he described as an immature approach. He argued that any government or Chief Minister should plan development based on available resources.

He further stated that during the previous TRS government, Telangana’s debt was believed to be Rs 3 lakh crore. However, recent findings show that the debt has increased to Rs 7.5 lakh crore, making it difficult for the state to even pay interest. He blamed this financial mismanagement on Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy, and the party itself. According to him, the Congress government is now asking for funds from the Centre to cover up its failures and divert public attention.

Kishan Reddy also provided updates on key infrastructure projects. He said that work on the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road is progressing as promised by the BJP, and additional funds will be allocated for railway projects. He mentioned that 65% of the Hyderabad Coach Factory’s construction is complete. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone for this project, and though the budget may rise to Rs 750 crore, production at the factory is set to begin by April 2026.

He expressed surprise that Congress MPs were unaware of the groundbreaking ceremony for the Kazipet Coach Factory and that a memorandum had been submitted to the Railway Minister regarding it.

Meanwhile, the Union government has sanctioned Rs 4.23 crore for the construction of the Balkampet Yellamma temple under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) scheme.
