Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that the state cabinet will honor Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, a respected CPI leader and former MP. The cabinet will decide on a lasting tribute to him. Similar to the State Horticulture University and the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project, which are named after prominent figures, Sudhakar Reddy’s legacy will be preserved. Reddy emphasized that the government respects those who inspire the people of Telangana.
The Chief Minister described the loss of Sudhakar Reddy as a significant blow to the state. He praised Reddy for living bravely and standing firm in his beliefs throughout his life.
Reddy highlighted that Sudhakar Reddy followed his ideals with dedication until his passing. Rising from a grassroots activist to an MP, Reddy remained humble and modest. The CM also mentioned that a request to name the Telugu University after Suravaram Pratap Reddy was promptly approved upon receiving his letter.
The state decided to honor Sudhakar Reddy’s contributions by conducting his final rites with full state honors. His work brought pride to the Mahbubnagar district. The Congress party acknowledged his efforts during a recent Political Affairs Committee meeting. AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge offered condolences, according to the Chief Minister.
