State Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari has instructed District Collectors to prepare for the “Swatchadanam – Pachhadanam” (Cleanliness and Greenery) programme. This event will take place from August 5 to 9 across the State. It aims to address civic problems in both rural and urban areas.

The Chief Secretary held a video conference with all the Collectors on Thursday to discuss the program. She emphasized that saplings should not only be planted but also cared for to ensure their survival.

In addition to planting trees, authorities should focus on controlling the mosquito population, preventing infectious diseases, maintaining water conservation pits, and raising awareness about potholes.
