Hyderabad: Officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) have shut down the unauthorized Pavilion Restaurant in Jubilee Hills. The closure happened with police help to maintain order, following instructions from the Telangana High Court.

The restaurant was situated at Road No 51, Plot No 1014C, in the Jubilee Hills Cooperative Society area, which falls under Circle 18, Khairtabad Zone.

In 2019, after multiple complaints about the illegal construction, GHMC officials issued notices. The Deputy Commissioner then conducted a thorough investigation from March 13 to April 16.

A GHMC statement confirmed that running a restaurant without proper approvals and engaging in commercial activities in a residential area is against the law. Therefore, the Deputy Commissioner affirmed that the property is now sealed.
