Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to speed up the development of the greenfield Pharma City on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The Pharma City will be located in the Muchharla area, which falls within the Rangareddy and Mahabubnagar districts.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of using the latest technology in the development of the Pharma City. He also instructed the authorities to ensure that the project is pollution-free so that people living in nearby areas do not face any problems.
Additionally, the CM asked officials to develop key infrastructure as quickly as possible. This includes building roads, ensuring a supply of safe drinking water, providing electricity, and setting up drainage systems. He emphasized that these basic facilities are necessary for the smooth functioning of the pharma city. Officials were also asked to assess future needs and plan for long-term infrastructure development.
Several well-known pharmaceutical companies have already expressed interest in investing in the Pharma City. The government plans to hold a meeting with these companies soon. The CM stated that the goal is to make Pharma City a hub for drug manufacturing, biotech, and life sciences companies.
The Pharma City will also focus on research and development (R&D). A special university will be established to support training and skill development in these fields. The CM suggested that courses in healthcare and the pharmaceutical sector should be introduced to create more job opportunities. He also urged officials to support local people and farmers who were affected by land acquisition for the project.
