Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has ordered HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath to organize a three-day Kite Festival starting from January 11 at restored lakes across Hyderabad. The festival will coincide with the Sankranti celebrations, bringing together citizens to celebrate at revitalized water bodies in the city.
HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath met with CM Revanth Reddy today and provided a detailed briefing on the progress of lake restoration works within the HMDA limits. The meeting focused on leveraging the restored lakes as venues for public celebrations during the upcoming festival season.
The Chief Minister directed that the Kite Festival be organized in coordination with the Tourism Department to ensure smooth execution and maximum public participation. The event aims to showcase the successful restoration efforts undertaken by HYDRAA while providing recreational opportunities for residents.
For the Kite Festival at Tummidikunta lake in the HitecCity area, CM Revanth Reddy suggested inviting IT professionals and employees from the technology sector. The location’s proximity to major IT hubs makes it an ideal venue for engaging the tech community in traditional festivities.
At Nallacheruvu lake in Kukatpally, the Chief Minister proposed inviting film celebrities to participate in the celebrations. The presence of popular faces from the entertainment industry is expected to draw large crowds and generate enthusiasm for the event.
For the Kite Festival at Burukudfin lake in the Rajendranagar area, CM Revanth Reddy recommended involving sportspersons. This approach aims to inspire youth and promote sports culture alongside traditional celebrations.
